#ManeCrushMonday w/ Jori
What day is it?!?
It's #ManeCrushMonday! This Mane Crush all started with a DM *cues Yo Gotti*. Jori's hair caught my eye on the gram and I had to ask her to be my #ManeCrushMonday for today!
Mane Style: How long have you been natural?
Jori: I have been natural going on 6 years.
MS: What are your go-to hairstyles?
J: If anyone frequents my Instagram I think everyone can attest that any Perm Rod set is my go-to! Like clockwork, at the end of my sets I follow up with my good ole’ faithful top knot. I guarantee you will catch me in 1 of those 2 styles.
MS: Do you have any holy-grail hair products?
J: I don’t really have any holy-grail products, I like to give every product a try. However, for my perm rod sets Lotta Body Wrap Me Foaming Mousse is A MUST!
MS: Describe your personal style?
J: My style is very eclectic. I’ve been an athlete all my life, so sweats and sneakers pretty much make up the majority of my closet. Now that I am nearing my 30s, I have enjoyed more sophisticated looks!
MS: What clothing store(s) could we find you in, mostly?
J: I am an avid online shopper LOL! If I do enter any stores it would be Nordstrom and Target. People sleep on Target but I find a lot of cute pieces in there. Plus I like that Nordstrom has the e-Bar and Target has Starbucks, just puts me in such a great shopping mood!
MS: If you couldn’t live without one thing in your closet what would it be?
J: Only one?! It’s so hard to choose, but I will just say ‘A little black something.’ I love all neutral tones but black is so easy. Anything you can think of I have it in black and probably three extra pairs!
MS: Does your outfit for the day reflect how you wear your hair? Or vice versa?
J: Absolutely! Both actually. If my hair is looking blah, I have zero motivation to put on a cute outfit. But, if my hair is on point it definitely dictates what I am going to wear. And those are usually the days when we go nowhere and no one saw us LOL!
MS: Just for fun, who are your top three #WCW or just women who inspire you?
J: There are just so many! Every woman in my family is truly the epitome of strength; my mother, grandmother, sister, aunts and cousins! And of course our gorgeous First Lady, I think every woman aspires to exude that level of class, elegance, intelligence and beauty!
MS: If you could share one of piece of advice with readers, whether it be about style or hair, what would it be?
J: Many do not know that I am an introvert. And the most honest advice I can ever give is; learn to love you! The society we live in will quickly make you believe that physically you are not enough, but it is so important to know you are more than! Be comfortable and confident in whatever makes you happy.
