 Mane Style: How long have you been natural?

Shamar: I have been natural since 2009 so that's 7 years now!

MS: What are your go-to hairstyles?

S: My go-to hair style is my fro! I normally wear it out like that when I'm going out to ear or to a party with my friends. I think it looks so fierce that way.

MS: Do you have any holy-grail products?

S: My eco styler gel, Karen's body beautiful leave in and my Mane Choice 3-in-1 conditioner. Those are the best products I've used so far. 

MS: Describe your personal style?

S: Hmmm, it would definitely would be a cross between edgy and simple. It really just depends on where I'm going. I love tees with really cool graphics on them especially if they're vintage. I also like outfits that have a nice color palette to them. As long as it looks good then I will wear it.

MS: What clothing store(s) could we find you in, mostly?

S: Forever 21, H&M, Zara, Zumiez, Belk and Urban Outfitters!

M: If you couldn't live without one thing in your closet what would it be?

S: This one is hard... Lol it would definitely be my Free People boots or my white Nike sneakers. I can literally wear them with anything!

MS: Does your outfit for the day reflect how you wear your hair? Or vice versa?

S: Yes it does. Never fails. LOL sometimes I'll wear it in a middle part bun if I want to done my outfit a little. It's crazy how much an Afro or a bun can change your entire look.

MS: Just for fun, who are your top three #WCW or just women who inspire you?

S: Solange is at the top of my list. I love how she expresses herself through her photography and fashion sense. She seems so free spirited and open minded and I love that about her! My other two are Erykah Badu and my mom.

MS: If you could share one piece of advice with readers, whether it be about style or hair, what would it be?

S: Don't ever be afraid to express yourself through your personal style and wear it with CONFIDENCE. Who cares what anybody else thinks, at the end of the day you are unique in your own way. Love yourself and let it show.
