#ManeCrushMonday w/ Dominique D.
Happy Monday loves!
I’m here to make your day a little brighter with this #ManeCrushMonday! Today I’m featuring the radiant. Dominique Dacres. I came across her Youtube and couldn’t help but to fall in love with her hair. Dominque’s wash and gos are always popping! You might as well call her the queen of wash and go’s💁🏽♀️
Mane Style: How long have you been natural?
Dominique D.: I have been natural since October 29, 2017, so about 1 year and 10 months now.
MS: What is your go-to hairstyle that never fails?
DD: I’m currently working on finding a new go to style, I do a wash and go the most because it’s convenient. I used to love doing a puff when all else fails but my puffs aren’t the same since my hair has been getting longer.
MS: Do you have any holy-grail products you can’t live without?
DD: I absolutely love everything Miche Beauty, the Camille Rose curl love and curl maker, Uncle Funky’s Daughter curly magic, Jessicurl spiralicious gel and Eden bodyworks coconut and shea leave in and curl cream and their hair tonic.
MS: Describe your personal style in two words?
DD: I think overall my personal style is a mix between casual chic and comfortable, but I do have days where I try to step away from my usual.
MS: What clothing store(s) could we find you in, mostly?
DD: I shop a lot more online so my go-to’s would be SheIn and Fashionnova for jeans but for physical stores, I would say Old Navy and Marshalls.
MS: If you couldn’t live without one thing in your closet what would it be?
DD: My grey Tommy Hilfiger Hoodie, I got it 3 years ago and it is still one of my all-time favorite clothing items.
MS: Does your outfit of the day reflect how you wear your hair? Or vice versa?
DD: I think my outfit determines how I wear my hair, but everything ultimately depends on my mood for the day.
MS: Just for fun, who are your top three #WCW or just women who inspire you?
DD: The top three women who inspire me are:
Monique Rodriquez- CEO of Mielle, mom of 2, wife and a black boss babe! She doesn’t sugar coat her journey or her current responsibilities, I feel like what you see is what you get, she is very humble and just a beautiful spirit. I’ve been a fan of hers before I ever started using her products.
Amra Olevic ‘Amrezy’- A makeup loving, free spirit that just stays in her own lane and does her own thing. She’s beautiful and she shares her personal style and just enough of her personality without inviting people in too much. I’m fully aware not everyone is a fan of her and that is totally fine, I’m not here for the politics, just the glam.
Allyiah Gainer ‘Allyiahsface’- The epitome of unapologetically being oneself, she has the most amazing personality, she seems genuinely caring and helpful from the few times we’ve spoken and she’s beautiful. She also tells it like it is, doesn’t fake the funk and that’s why she’ll always have my respect.
MS: If you could share one of piece advice with readers, whether it be about style, hair or life, what would it be?
DD: This too shall pass. Very cliché but very real and that goes for the good and the bad. Learn that when things are going amazing, appreciate them in that moment and when things are absolutely terrible, allow yourself to hurt then heal. The bad days make the good ones better!
